Sotheby’s Auction for Australian Bushfire Relief
We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Sotheby’s on a charity auction organised in response to the devastating Australian bushfire crisis in 2019-20.
Artworks by six phenomenal artists will be auctioned to raise funds for two Australian charities whose recovery has been hampered by Covid-19: Wildlife Victoria and community organisation Mallacoota and District Recovery Association. Images of the fire ravaged town of Mallacoota and its residents sheltering on the beach became front page news around the world this time last year.
Harry Burden and Emily Taylor, Directors of FRAME London said:
Shocked and saddened by the devastation of the bushfires on our homeland we aimed to hold an auction in 2020 to raise funds, but our plans were put on hold during lockdown. The restrictions imposed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 has hindered the recovery of victims and many feel they have been forgotten. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the artists who have donated works for the auction to help raise funds and awareness.
We are incredibly grateful to the group of artists who have kindly donated work to be auctioned: Lisa Brice, Jeremy Deller, Nick Goss, Donna Huddleston, David Noonan and Sue Webster.
Each work is framed in a unique eucalyptus wood with ash dust spray, designed especially for this unique auction.
[AUCTION NOW CLOSED]. Visit the Prints & Multiples auction running from 9th - 17th March on the Sotheby’s website for an opportunity to bid on these incredible art works, and help raise funds for two extraordinary Australian charities.
[UPDATE]: We are delighted to have raised over £8,000 for Wildlife Victoria and MADRA. Huge thanks to the artists for their incredible generosity, and to Sotheby’s for their excellent support.
